Breakfast grains
Flakers and fresh oats
A flaker crushes whole oat groats and other suitable grains into fresh flakes. The result tastes cleaner and nuttier than packet oats and gives you full control over texture.
Why flake fresh?
Freshly rolled oats have a softer aroma and a more vivid grain flavour. They are excellent for porridge, muesli, flapjacks and fresh breakfast bowls.
Mill or flaker?
A grain mill grinds grain into flour. A flaker rolls or crushes grain into flakes. If you bake bread, choose a mill first. If breakfast grains are your daily habit, a flaker can be just as useful.
What can be flaked?
Oat groats are the classic choice. Depending on the flaker, you may also use wheat, spelt, rye or other suitable grains. Always check the product guidance and avoid anything too oily, damp or hard for the rollers.
