Daily care

Run grain through at the correct setting, let the mill finish clearing itself, and wipe the exterior with a dry or barely damp cloth. Avoid water around the grinding chamber unless the manufacturer says otherwise.

If flour flow slows

Use a coarser setting and mill a small amount of dry grain to help clear residue. If the mill has been used with damp or oily ingredients, stop and check the manual before continuing.

Long-term habits

• Store grain dry.
• Check grain for stones or debris.
